I put three swift boxes on the gable of my house, along with the sound system.ï¿½ Iï¿½ve been playing the sounds since the start of May with no sign of any swifts up until this afternoon.ï¿½ Today I was outside and I saw two swifts circling the house!ï¿½ They have remained present all day and I heard them calling back in response to the recorded sounds.ï¿½ They have clung on to the side of the house, but not really close to the nest boxes.ï¿½

This week I noticed four swifts paying attention to the boxes.ï¿½ That evening I saw two swifts fly directly into the middle box within seconds of each other and presumably roost there overnight.ï¿½ Yesterday evening there were swifts in the middle and left hand box.

Of my three boxes, one remained empty, box 4 had a successful breeding pair and box 5 had a nest built within but had no signs of eggs or chicks.ï¿½I have purchased another four boxes so that will be seven in total for 2014!
